STOMPGRIP Volcano Traction Kit

For more grip between fuel tank and your legs at braking and hang-off. Makes fast riding easier. Riding faster laptimes longer is the result.

Well known from MotoGP and WorldSBK.

One sticker / pad for every side

 

Fits for:

 

- KTM RC8 (all)

 

Warm the tank and the pads before sticking with a hairdryer (best temperature between 20 and 40°C). Only use it on clean surfaces. Start in one corner with sticking, remove the backing step by step while going on with sticking. High pressure makes it more stick. Do not use it within 24 hours after installation.

For some materials (e.g. not coated carbon, rough plastics or frames) or in general it is recommended to prepare the surface with the Adhesion Promoter Kit (3M Primer Sticks).

It is possilbe to remove the pads in the future without damaging the finish of the bike.

Serial bikes are often equiped with a very long gear transmission due to noise or exhaust regulations. In most cases these transmissions don´t fit best for racetracks. ​Material from World Championship! The improved sinter-technology with depending on manufacturer slightly different processings is the top-standard of brake pad material for racing. Primarily developed for endurance racing, they found their way into all classes of word championships, because of thier broad and linear modulation independent from wether conditions and high braking performance. And also the small wear makes them first choice to many teams. SBS is offering state of the art world championship material (e.g. Moto2, MotoGP wet conditions).

 

Brake pads are one part of the whole bike setting for the rider. Depending on the rest of the setting, depending on driving skills, depending on budget and intended use, different brake pads may offer the optimum. The differences in possible lap times between from us offered brake pads are to be assumed about a second or less. You find some more difference in wear and price-performance ratio. The individual optimum additionally can strongly depend on the personal feeling for the brake. We suggest therefor to test and use experiences (also from other riders).

 

​Changing pads (short manual / suggestion):

- demount one caliper

- take off the old pads (remove bolts / spring, push out depending on model)

- clean the caliper complete (e.g. with teeth brush an detergent), check wear

- lubrify the pistons with ATE piston paste (e.g. with a 2nd brush)

- push back the pistons

- lubrify the edges and the back side of the pads with copper paste (do not lubrify friction surface)

- put the pads into the caliper like the old ones were in

- assemble the caliper to the bike, check function

- do the same with the 2nd caliper

Optional depending on caliper:

- check wear of bolts and springs, if is: replace

- use ceramic paste instead of copper paste (special calipers according to producer)

Always use fresh brake fluid and take care of a clean brake disk.

The DID ERVT developed as an enduro racing chain and meats almost the performance of the ERV3. It is a little bit lighter and therefor it is a very good racing chain for SSP, which often have no better OEM chains. 

By less to accelerate masses and less in turning to accelerate masses, and easier run you will have a relevant performance advantage. The lower moment of inertia (by mass and turning masses) also provides a better handling.

Because of lower tensile strength (e.g. compared to DID 525 ZVMX) it is recommended not to use this chain with SBKs (1000ccm) for clutch-wheelies at two person rides. You also should change the chain, if there are obvious signs of wear. In addition it is recommended not to use the optional clip lock with SBKs.
